What we will and won’t claim.

Most of Prixette is generated from price data. That is not a reason to lower the standard — it is the reason to write the standard down.

Who writes this

Prixette’s comparison pages, category pages and daily reports are generated from our own price tracking, then held to a fixed set of rules by automated checks that run before anything is published. Our hand-written explainers are edited by a person. We do not publish guest posts, sponsored articles, or content supplied by a retailer or brand.

The claim ladder

We say only what our data supports. These are the exact limits we operate under today:

  • We will say “$X at [retailer], verified [date]”, and “cheapest of the N retailers we track” when we hold two or more live prices.
  • We will say “[retailer] cut this from $A to $B” — a markdown measured against that retailer’s own stated full price, never against an estimate of what an item is worth.
  • We will not say “historical low”, “average price”, “prices are falling” or “best time to buy”. We began tracking prices on 1 September 2026. Those claims need months of history we do not yet have, and we will not imply a memory we lack.
  • We will not say that a price includes shipping, and we do not quote specifications. We hold neither, so we claim neither.
  • We will never say a price will drop, or that a sale is coming. Prediction is not our business.

When the data supports more, this page changes before the pages do.

How we write

  • The number comes first. No throat-clearing introduction, and no closing paragraph that repeats the opening one.
  • We name the limit. “3 retailers carry this” is more useful than “many retailers”.
  • We have not held the product, tested it, or interviewed anyone, and we never write as though we have. We have prices, dates and stores. That is plenty.
  • No countdowns, no “hurry”, no “selling fast”. A markdown is a fact to report, not a reason to push.

Independence

Prixette earns a commission when a reader buys through some of our links. That relationship never affects ranking: every comparison is sorted by price alone, and a retailer we earn nothing from is ranked exactly the same way as one we do. We do not accept payment for placement, for inclusion, or for a better position, and no retailer or brand sees a page before it is published.

Where we send you

Prixette does not sell anything. Every purchase happens on the retailer’s own site, under their prices, their stock and their returns policy. We are a research tool, not a shop.
